Liquify

In photoshop today we have been set a task to edit an image by using  the Liquify tool. This tool is used a lot in fashion magazines. With this tool the user is able to edit peoples faces and bodies to change the look of them. This tool works well when the edit has taken time and it can improve how the person looks in the image just by a few simple clicks.

But for this task I have chosen to go over the top and change how the person looks completely, you can make the person looks. There are only 3 or 4 tools that you would really use and these tools allow you to achieve some good edits. By over using some of the tools the image starts to become slightly pixelated, this problem only really occurs when you are over doing it and trying to make a funny or stupid picture.

This is the tool bar that is located at the side of the page. This is where the tools are located that you need to edit the images.

this is my contact sheet

all the images are in a contact sheet

Adobe Bridge

Adobe Bridge is the piece of software that is used to create the contact sheet of your image.

This is the main interface of Bridge, its simple to navigate around. All you need to do is select the folder where the images are placed. For me they are saved on the desktop. So i clicked the desktop folder.

Logo that is shown in the dock.

This shows all the images that are in my desktop folder. All these images were taken and imported with Image Capture.

I have dragged over these four images and I am going to delete these because they do not work with what i want.

When you click the delete key this window pops up, you have to click to delete to remove them from Bridge.

When you click the delete button you then get asked agin and click ok.

You are then left with the pictures you want.

Then select all the images by dragging over them.

Then select the word output.

Change the size of the sheet to 4*5 in the right hand side task bar.

Then click the save button.

The chose a file name and the folder where to save it then click save.

Re-naming photos

Re-naming the photos you have uploading is important because you can easily find it agin and it looks neater.

To rename the picture you have to wait until they have been uploaded as you cannot rename them whilst in the software Image Capture. To rename the file you have to locate the file where the images are saved, select the image.

You will know when the image is selected because the name of the image would be high lighted blue. Once this is high lighted you have to press the enter key and then you can rename the image to what you would like.

When you have pressed the enter key you are able to edit the file name. You will know when you can edit the file name because the starting part of the name will be highlighted blue. The part that is not highlighted blue is what kind of file it is and in this case it was a JPG file.

To delete the part that is highlighted just press the backspace key and then type in what you would like, its best to keep the file type so you know what the file type is.

This is the renaming process finished and completed, there is not blue high light around any of the image, and to get rid of the blue highlight you just click anywhere on the screen or click on image it's self.

Downloading all images

To download all the images on the camera connected to the computer you have to click the download all button on the Image Capture main interface.

Click the download all button to make sure that all of the images are downloaded to your computer.

When you click the download all button a new drop down window opens up and is shows how many images are re-maining to do be uploaded. The blue line shows the process and the closer it is to the right side the more images that have been uploaded. Once this process has been complete this menu has disappeared the folder where the files are saved will pop up. And then you can do what ever you want with these images.

Image Capture Interface

This is the main interface for Image Capture. The top drop down menu is where you select the folder where  you want to save the images to. You can chose and existing folder or create a new folder for the images you are going to be downloading to your computer.

These are the two buttons that are located along the bottom of the Image Capture interface. When you click the 'Download Some...' button a new tab opens up which allows you to select certain images from the ones you have photographed.

This is the new window that open up when you click the 'Download Some...' button. When this new window opens up you have two options. You can either drag over the several images you want to upload or you can just select one my clicking it and then clicking the download button. You also have to click the download button when you drag over the images you want.

The blue highlight on the file name is when it has been selected. When you are selecting some images to download you have to make sure they have this on them so that they are selected. You would not be able to upload the image if it was not highlighted like this.

Uploading the photos

To upload your images from your camera to your computer you have to use software. This piece of software is called Image Capture.

This is the icon that is shown in the dock when the software is running. This is the icon for Image Capture.
